Getting started with polydesk clicktrader BETA

1. Install

Download the build for your platform from our public GitHub repository, Windows (.exe installer; an .msi package is also published for managed installations) and macOS (.dmg, Apple Silicon). Verify the published SHA-256 checksum before installing; never install builds from third-party links.

2. First launch, paper mode

polydesk clicktrader starts in PAPER mode: the full cockpit against live market data with simulated fills. No wallet, no funds and no license are needed. Use it to learn the interface risk-free, it stays free without time limit.

3. The cockpit at a glance

  • Top bar: market search and MARKET EXPLORER, the ARMED / DISARMED toggle, size presets (hotkeys 1 to 8), HEDGE %, POSITION NET/LEGS, GRID DEPTH and LADDER ROWS, and the PAPER / LIVE pill that switches the mode after a confirmation.
  • Workspace: one ladder card per market outcome, bid depth, price, ask depth, your orders (blue), auto-center and a depth minimap.
  • Left sidebar: the PLACE BETS ticket, where a grid click stages a bet, and UNMATCHED BETS with your resting orders.
  • Bottom panel: ACTIVE POSITIONS, WORKING ORDERS with CANCEL ALL, the FILLS log and the SESSION tiles.
  • Footer: ENGINE (the trading engine: READY, STARTING…, RESTARTING…, OFFLINE) and PRICES (the market feed: LIVE, CONNECTING…, STALE, NO DATA, IDLE), plus ⓘ DETAILS for the technical strip with connection dots and latency.

4. Placing and managing orders

  • Click an ASK cell to take: a buy at that price. Click a price cell or a BID cell to make: a resting buy at that price (a BID click joins the bid). Selling runs through the HEDGE column, never through a BID click.
  • Your working orders appear as blue chips in the MINE column, click a chip to cancel that order.
  • Hotkeys: 1 to 8 select size presets · F hedges every position at the best bid · Esc cancels every working order · CANCEL ALL in the WORKING ORDERS header does the same.
  • DISARMED blocks all order placement, use it whenever you step away.

5. Going live

  1. Connect your own Polymarket-compatible wallet. Your signer key is created and stored locally, polydesk clicktrader never transmits it.
  2. Switch to LIVE with the PAPER pill in the top bar and confirm the dialog. The pill then reads LIVE in a high-contrast colour — always check it before trading.
  3. Live orders in the Free tier are capped in size (see pricing); during the open beta the caps are shown as a preview only, and no builder fee applies. A Plus license lifts the caps; enter the key under ⚙ Settings → LICENCE in the app.

6. The full manual

This page is the short version. The complete manual — every window, every setting, every limit — is built into the app: ? GUIDE in the footer. Its OPEN IN BROWSER button puts the same pages in your browser, so you can read them next to the cockpit while you work. It needs no internet connection and always matches the version you are running.
